PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new means capable of diagnosing and treating enzyme metabolism disorder in human testis, closely relating to male sterility, and especially the male sterility, and usable for fertilization control. SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition, comprising as active component at least one of Hip kinase 4 (HipK4) nucleic acid, a HipK4 polypeptide, modulators of HipK4, antibodies directed against HipK4, a HipK4 antisense, and a HipK4 RNAi, corresponding to enzyme HipK4 acting important part in spermiogenesis/spermatogenesis step, is used for the diagnosis and treatment of fertility impairments and for contraception.
