PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter device and a module wherein a means for estimating an initial value of alternating-current voltage phase, power supply frequency, phase sequence, supply voltage, and load required for controlling the converter device is achieved without use of a supply voltage phase sensor and stable start-up can be implemented. SOLUTION: Before start-up, the converter device detects alternating current with a load on the direct current side and a diode in rectifying operation. Voltage phase, frequency, phase sequence, supply voltage, and load are estimated from the detected alternating current signal. Stable start-up can be implemented by this processing and boosting processing of a direct-current capacitor and phase adjustment processing at start-up. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
