<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake member which is not bulky, which can suppress the sounds of a suppressed object, and which can be inexpensively manufactured. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A muffling chamber is provided at a mounting end 2 of the intake member having a pathway body 1 and the mounting end 2. The muffling chamber is formed as a side-branch muffling chamber 4, or the pathway body 1 and the mounting end 2 are integrally blow-molded. When the muffling chamber is provided at the mounting end 2, the outside shape of the intake member is smaller than when the mounting end 2 and the muffling chamber are provided separately. When the muffling chamber is formed as the side-branch muffling chamber 4, the mounting end 2 can be simply shaped to reduce the manufacturing cost of the intake member. When the pathway body 1 and the mounting end 2 is integrally blow-molded, the mounting end 2 in a hollow shape can be easily molded to reduce the manufacturing cost of the intake member.
