PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized solar cell element capable of obtaining higher photoelectric conversion efficiency than that of a conventional dye-sensitized solar cell element under a low illuminance environment.SOLUTION: A dye-sensitized solar cell element comprises a semiconductor electrode and a counter electrode that is disposed oppositely to the semiconductor electrode, and includes an electrolyte layer between the semiconductor electrode and the counter electrode. In the dye-sensitized solar cell element, the counter electrode contains a transition metal. The electrolyte layer contains a polyether compound having a repetition unit of a specific structure having an onium ion containing a cationic nitrogen atom. The polyether compound contains the repetition unit of the specific structure in 40 mol% or less in all the repetition units.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
