PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target structure for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.SOLUTION: A detection method of a cancer cell in the liver characterized by the expression or abnormal expression of the tumor-associated antigen in the biological sample isolated from a patient comprises: (i) detecting a nucleic acid encoding a tumor-associated antigen, and/or (ii) detecting a tumor-associated antigen, the tumor-associated antigen comprising a sequence encoded by the nucleic acid selected from (a) a nucleic acid containing a specific nucleic acid sequence, and (b) a nucleic acid that is at least 95% identical to the nucleic acid (a) and is selectively or abnormally expressed in tumor cells, and the detecting comprising (1) bringing the biological sample into contact with an agent that specifically binds to a nucleic acid encoding the tumor-associated antigen or the tumor-associated antigen, and (2) detecting the formation of the complex of the agent and the nucleic acid or tumor-associated antigen, as well as detecting the complex is used as an indicator of liver cancer.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
