Provided are a sliding film composed primarily of a hard carbon material having a desired surface roughness and surface shape, as well as a method for producing same, and a sliding member and a method for producing same. A diamond film 20 has a smooth transfer surface 21, and this transfer surface 21 is a sliding surface 21. A sliding member 50 has an adhesive layer 40 for adhering the diamond film 20 to a base material 30. The formed diamond film 20 is taken out away from a substrate 10, and the substrate 10-side transfer surface 21 of the diamond film 20 is made to be a sliding surface 21; a film formation surface 22 of the diamond film at the side opposite the transfer surface 21 is attached and fixed to the base material 30 via an adhesive agent 40. |
