PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a bond strength between a cover paper and a text paper bundle thereby improving quality of a booklet.SOLUTION: A bookbinding device comprises hole opening means 131 which forms communication holes C for bonding which is configured by selecting two or more of a front cover side communication hole C1 as a first communication hole which communicates a part of a rear face of a text paper bundle PS and a part of a front cover side end part PS1 which is a cover side end part with each other, a back cover side communication hole C2 as a second communication hole which communicates a part of the rear face of the text paper bundle PS and a part of a back cover side end part PS2 which is a cover side end part with each other, and a rear face side communication hole C3 as a third communication hole which communicates a part of the rear face of the text paper bundle PS and another part of the rear face with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
