Radio receiver with antenna diversity and method utilizing the same

The method involves selecting a preferred antenna signal from a number of signals in a first mode and converting it into an intermediate frequency signal of the receiver, converting first and second signals from a number of antenna signals into intermediate frequency signals in a second mode, digitizing the intermediate frequency signals, adding the digitized signals and selecting the mode according to reception conditions. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle radio receiver.
