PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface cleaning apparatus for cleaning the surface of a floor etc. which can securely remove dust etc. on an uneven part of the surface, for instance, in cracks and crevices. SOLUTION: This surface cleaning apparatus includes a brush (11) with a substantially cylindrical member. The substantially cylindrical member is equipped with a plurality of bristle tufts (119, 121) substantially extended radially from the cylindrical member. Bristles have first length and second length shorter than the first length. The first length bristles (121) and the second length bristles (119) are distributed substantially along the axis line direction of the substantially cylindrical member.
