<p>Process for spray drying in which a composition containing microorganisms which are beneficial to human nutrition is first prepared and then reduced to a powder by spray drying in a spray dryer with an inlet air temperature of 200-400 degrees C and an outlet air temperature of 40-90 degrees C and a residence time in the dryer selected so as to ensure survival of≥1 % of the microorganisms after drying.</p>
