PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reproduction for confirming a received content even when the transfer rate of motion picture data for normal reproduction is high and the processing capacity and the display capacity of an external device on the receiving side are low. SOLUTION: When the transfer rate of motion picture data for normal reproduction is high and the processing capacity and the display capacity of a personal computer are low, received motion picture data for normal reproduction is not decoded and displayed but received image data for high rate reproduction is decoded and displayed.
