PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material for an unequally thick rim capable of preventing a tip part from hanging down due to gravity between rolls when conveying the raw material on a conveyance roller conveyor at rolling time and to provide a manufacturing method for the unequally thick rim. SOLUTION: (1) This raw material for the unequally thick rim is molded in such a way that the center of plate thickness is recessed and projects gently in the direction corresponding to the axial direction of the rim after molding the rim during rolling of the raw material for the rim or after rolling the raw material for the rim. (2) This manufacturing method for the unequally thick rim comprises a process for molding the raw material for the unequally thick rim in such a manner that the center of plate thickness is recessed and projects gently in the direction corresponding to the axial direction of the rim after molding the rim during rolling of the raw material for the rim or after rolling the raw material for the rim.
