PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve decoding performance by optimizing the image quality of acquired image data. SOLUTION: A decode processor 10 acquires image data of an image photographed by an input device 11 (for example, camera, etc.), as a decode object, and performs decode processing of the image data. Then, the decode processor 10 determines whether decode processing of a code is successful. When the decode processor 10 determines that the decode processing is not successful as a result, the decode processor 10 adjusts an image acquisition characteristic when the image data are acquired.
