PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique allowing a user to easily confirm a data transmission state when data is transmitted from a client equipment side to a server side. SOLUTION: A recording and reproducing device having a network function for digitizing, recording, and reproducing video and audio includes: a network control part for controlling the reception of the data output by a client via a network; a recording medium control part for controlling a recording medium on which the data received by the network control part is recorded; a display control part for causing a display part to output the data recorded on the recording medium; and a system control part for controlling the display control part. The system control part causes the display control part to display the recording progress state of the data output by the client into the recording medium on a display part.
