PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel scintillator capable of improving afterglow characteristics involving a problem of afterglow making an image obscure, in using cesium iodide:thallium (CsI:Tl) having CsI as a matrix with thallium doped thereto as a scintillator, and combined with PD (photodiode) as a detector.SOLUTION: A scintillator is obtained by doping, with regard to Cs, 0.001-0.100 at.% bismuth (Bi) to a crystal material having CsI (cesium iodide) as a matrix and containing, with regard to Cs, 0.015-0.700 at.% thallium (Tl) as a luminescence center. The doping amount of the bismuth is preferably 0.001-0.020 at.%, and more preferably 0.001-0.010 at.%.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
