The object of the invention is to provide a front section for a motor vehicle in which even at higher collision energies than those typical of a pedestrian accident, the repair expenditure can be kept low. The invention relates to a front section for a motor vehicle comprising a bumper cladding 8 and a bumper stiffening 11 which extends in the vehicle longitudinal direction between the bumper cladding 8 and a supporting body part 4. A connecting unit 15 (26, fig2), which fixes a rear edge region 13 of the bumper stiffening 11 on an underside of the body part 4 is inserted from below into an opening (27, fig 2) of the body part 4 and has flexible legs (31, fig 5) which are reversibly splayed apart above the opening (27), after the insertion of the screw 15 from below. Further the stiffener has tapered stiffening ribs 17 projecting rearwards and upwards that are formed to engage with the front edge of the supporting body 4 upon impact. |
