The present invention relates to a process for dyeing fibre materials composed of natural or synthetic polyamides wherein an alkoxylated and quaternized unsaturated fatty acid amine, preferably an oleylamine, is used as a levelling agent. The present compound leads to very uniform dyeings and is very effective in low concentrations.
