ULTRAVIOLET ABSORBING AGENT, SKIN PREPARATION FOR EXTERNAL USE CONTAINING THE SAME, AND ANTIOXIDANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble ultraviolet absorbing agent excellent in safety with high ultraviolet absorbing effect, a skin preparation for external use containing the same, and an antioxidant using a highly safe material. SOLUTION: A chitin oligosaccharide and/or a chitosan oligosaccharide are used as effective components of the ultraviolet absorbing agent and the antioxidant. The chitin oligosaccharide and/or the chitosan oligosaccharide preferably have 2-10 degree of polymerization and the maximum absorption wavelength at 240-320 nm.
