PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rim wheel capable of compatibly attaining riding comfort and driveability which are major required performances of a car. SOLUTION: In the rim wheel, an annular sub air chamber 20 is formed in a rim 16, and a tire main air chamber 18 and the sub air chamber 20 are communicated with each other via an orifice 26. The tire main air chamber 18 is connected to the sub air chamber 20 via the orifice 26, and the internal volume thereof for gas becomes larger than that of an assembly of a regular tire and a regular rim wheel by the volume of at least the sub air chamber 20. The spring constant mainly in the radial direction of the tire 14 can be reduced in the low-speed traveling mode of low tire deformation rate, and a mild ride quality can be provided. On the other hand, in the high-speed traveling, the passing resistance of the orifice 26 is increased to generate a large damping force. The volume change of the tire main air chamber 18 is suppressed, and as a result, the tire deformation is suppressed, and the steering stability is enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
