PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printing device which can easily switch full cut and half cut and make desired cutting action while suppressing the waste of a tapelike member. SOLUTION: A tape cutter 45 has a receiving plate 61 at one side of a path of a tape T and a tape pressing plate 63 at the other side of the path of the tape T sandwiching the path of the tape extending from a tape cartridge C. A cutter unit 65 and a power transmitting mechanism 67 are arranged behind the tape pressing plate 63, the power transmitting mechanism 67 drives the tape pressing plate 63 and the cutter unit 65 in proper timing receiving a driving force from a cutter motor 69. Half cut can be performed at a proper position of the tape T one time or more by properly moving the tape pressing plate 63 before the movement of the cutter unit 65, so that one or more of half cut portions can be formed at propter positions of the tape T cut out after printing.
