PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed apparatus which can surely attach and fix a side fence on the side frame of a bed body. SOLUTION: This bed apparatus includes a bed frame having a pair of side frames 2, and the side fence which is detachably installed on the side frames. The side frame is constituted of a lower member 13 and an upper member 12. In this case, the upper member 12 is installed at the upper end of the lower member through an intermediate member 11 made of a metal, and has a horizontal section 21 which projects outward in the width direction of the bed frame. On the horizontal section, a plurality of insertion holes 22 which keeps the leg sections 38 of the side fences inserted are installed longitudinally at a predetermined interval. On the lower surface side of the horizontal section corresponding to the insertion holes which keeps the leg sections inserted, supporting members 25 which support the leg sections projecting from the insertion holes are installed by being attached and fixed to the intermediate member.
