<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a compression rate when encoding an image, by applying integrating processing to motion vector information for each of a plurality of regions within a frame, and reducing the number of motion vector information items within a bit stream to be produced. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector integrating processing section 5 regards a plurality of macro blocks each including a plurality of inputted motion vectors determined as the same motion vector as belonging to the same group. Processing for the purpose of representing one of the plurality of motion vectors as a motion vector in the same group, namely, motion vector integrating processing is performed. Among the plurality of macro blocks, a motion vector determined as identical is searched. In the case where there are a plurality of motion vectors judged as identical, respective macro blocks each including them can be handled as one area (the same group), so that processing for one motion vector as a representative of the plurality of macro blocks is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
