PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record and reproduce continuous data by using a single optical pickup and accelerating a transfer speed over an entire CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) type optical disk. SOLUTION: Encoded data read from a buffer memory are recorded in the innermost circumferential area #1 of an optical disk rotating at a constant rotational speed with 0. 4 X speed for a fixed period of time, and subsequently recorded in the outermost circumferential area #n with 1. 0 X speed for a fixed period of time after making the optical pickup seek the outermost circumferential area #n. After that, the encoded data are recorded in a divided area #2 for a fixed period of time after making the optical pickup seek the divided area #2 of an inner circumferential side, and the encoded data are continuously recorded in a divided area #n-1 for a fixed period of time after making the optical pickup seek the divided area #n-1 of an outer circumferential area. Hereinafter, like the above, the encoded data are intermittently and alternately recorded at inner circumferential sides and outer circumferential sides. Consequently, an average transfer speed is higher than that of the innermost circumferential area by 0. 4 X speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
