<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an energization control unit for a resistance welding machine by which a material always with a regular height and thickness can be welded to a base material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The energization control unit is provided with: a height measuring part (36) for measuring the height of a workpiece (W) by bringing a movable electrode (11) in contact with the workpiece (W) placed on a base material; a group data storing part (38) for storing group data in which a fixing order of each workpiece (W) onto the base material or a fixing address of each workpiece (W) of the base material, the height (thickness) of each workpiece (W), and an electric power corresponding to the workpiece (W) are summarized in groups; a selecting part (39) for selecting, from the group data storing part (38), the group data having the height of the workpiece (W) corresponding to the measurement by inputting the measurement measured by the height measuring part (36); a discriminating part (40) for discriminating presence/absence of group data selection in the selecting part (39); an energizing part (41) for energizing the electrode with an electric power corresponding to the workpiece (W) in the event of discrimination as "presence" in the discriminating part (40); and an energization prohibiting part (42) for prohibiting energization of the electrode in the event of discrimination as "absence" in the discriminating part (40).
