A picture-control unit (PCU) (22) controls a flat screen's display unit (43). Separated picture data from data sources (1a-1n) is fed to each entry point in a through-connection unit (TCU) (24) for connecting picture data through for one of the data sources to the TCU's first output linked to the PCU. An independent claim is also included for a flat screen with a picture-control unit for controlling the flat screen's display unit.
