DATA OUTPUT DEVICE AND DATA OUTPUT METHOD

A data output device and method for enabling the user to copy data with a simple operation even if only the data in a specified range is copied by eliminating the necessity to provide a large-scale complex user interface. The data output device (100) is used for outputting data previously stored in a predetermined data storage section (120) to an external data recording medium (200) from/in which data can be read/written. The device (100) comprises a data output control section (150) which checks if at least any specifying information representing the range of data to be outputted is present on the external data recording medium (200) and extracts, if any, the data in the relevant range from the data stored in the data storage section (120) to output the extracted data to the external data recording medium (200).
