<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downfall prevention device inexpensively, which can be simply set, and surely prevent downfall. <P>SOLUTION: An upper metal fittings includes: a fixing band 10, a horizontal arm 11 extending horizontally, a vertical bar 12 vertically fitted to the horizontal arm 11, and a holding bar having a curved surface, which is provided at the lower end of the vertical bar. A band is fastened by a bolt to be fixed to the upper part of a utility pole P, and a pulling rope is wrapped round the holding bar 13 and fixed to a lower metal fitting 2. In pole climbing work, a carrier cable 4 is connected to the pulling rope 3 to wrap the carrier cable 4 round the holding bar 13, further pulled to draw the distal end to this side, both ends of the carrier cable 4 are fixed to the lower metal fitting 2, and fixed tension is applied to the carrier cable 4. A worker climbs with a downfall preventive safety device moored to perform the work.
