<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a hydrocrackate in high selectivity from a polyhydric alcohol using a specific catalyst, and a catalyst for hydrocracking the polyhydric alcohol to be used for the reaction. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a hydrocrackate of a polyhydric alcohol, wherein the polyhydric alcohol and hydrogen are made into mutual contact in the presence of a catalyst (A) containing at least one metal component selected from platinum, palladium and ruthenium and a catalyst (B) containing rhenium, and a catalyst for hydrocracking the polyhydric alcohol are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
