PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device which performs focus adjustment based on determination of satisfactory light source detection, an imaging device and a focus adjustment method. SOLUTION: The focus adjustment method comprises a focus adjustment process of adjusting a focal position of an imaging lens based on a signal obtained by photo-electric conversion of light from a subject. In the focus adjustment process, whether to perform focus adjustment according to a comparison result of lights of different wavelength areas from the subject is controlled according to the respective lights of the different wavelength areas from the subject.
