PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air conditioner capable of suppressing an increase in pressure loss that occurs when air passes between adjacent right and left blades even if, for example, right and left blades are largely rotated in a direction for largely deflecting an air direction to the right and left for blowing air to each corner of the room. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is equipped with a right-and-left air-direction control device 7 provided in a blowout port 2 for deflecting and controlling an air direction generated by a fan 5. The right and left air direction control device 7 includes a plurality of right and left rotating blades 12a that rotate with a right and left rotating blade rotating shaft 11 provided to a bottom face 2a of the blowout port 2 as a center for deflecting the air direction to the right and left, and a flat plate 12b provided at the upstream side of the right and left rotating blades 12a for reducing the flow velocity of air flowing toward an end at the upstream side of the right and left rotating blades 12a.
