PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier and an air cleaner capable of creating a comfortable space by releasing air from which moisture is eliminated by a filter into a room during a non-humidifying operation. SOLUTION: This humidifier comprises a water tank 4, a blower, the filter 3 disposed in an air flow passage for air generated by the blower so as to be rotated by a horizontal rotating shaft 33 and formed in a disk shape, and a rotating driving mechanism 9 for rotating the filter 3 in the circumferential direction. The filter 3 comprises a dipped part 3a having an outer peripheral part dipped in the water tank 4 when rotated and a non-dipped part 3b which are separated from each other in the circumferential direction. When the filter 3 is not rotated, the non-dipped part 3b is vertically disposed to prevent the water in the water tank 4 from being sucked up. During the non-humidifying operation, the air from which moisture is eliminated by the filter 3 can be released into the room. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
