Welding or cutting unit comprising an extractable chassis (7) having a pair of mobile supports (1, 2) located on opposite sides of a passage (5) through which there moves a web (B) to be welded or cut, a pair of thermal pressure rods or a pair of cutting blades (3, 4) fixed to the mobile supports (1, 2), and a drive mechanism including a driven coupling (8). The extractable chassis (7) can be coupled to guide supports of a structure of the machine and can be placed in a working position or extracted from the guide supports. In the working position, the driven coupling (8) is automatically coupled with a driving coupling operated by a motor installed in the structure. The drive mechanism converts rotary motion of the motor into back-and-forth motion of the mobile supports (1, 2). |
