PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing method that can detect disturbance of crystallization with high resolution.SOLUTION: An image processing device 1 includes acquiring means 2 for acquiring a high angle annular dark-field image and a high angle bright field image of a sample from a scanning transmission type electron microscope image 11 having atomic resolution, extraction means 3 for extracting images of a region having a periodical structure based on crystal and corresponding to the same site in the sample from both the high angle annular dark-field image and the high angle bright-field image, adjusting means 4 for adjusting the contrast of the high angle annular dark-field image, the high angle bright-field image or both of these images so that the contrast of a third image obtained by superimposing a first image extracted from the high angle annular dark-field image by the extraction means 3 and a second image extracted from the high angle bright-field image by the extraction means 3 satisfies a fixed condition, and superimposing means 5 for superimposing the high-angle annular dark-field image and the high angle bright-field image after the adjustment is performed by the adjustment means 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
