The invention relates to a system and method of developing a three-dimensional (3D) model of a knee bone from a plurality of images is disclosed. The method includes selecting one or more images from the plurality of images and identifying Femur, Tibia and Cortical bone regions in the selected one or more images. The identified images are pre-processed for Femur, Tibia and Cortical bone segmentation using separate image processing actions respectively. The segmentation of the Femur, Tibia and Cortical bone regions is performed using a separate segmentation process respectively for the Femur, Tibia and Cortical bone regions. The Femur, Tibia and Cortical bone segmented regions are merged and then the merged segmented regions are post processed to develop the three-dimensional (3D) model of the knee bone.
