PURPOSE: A recording control device, a recording and reproducing device, and a recording control method are provided to calculate reliability on maximum likelihood decoding results on the basis of a digital signal and a waveform rectification, and to control a shape of a recording signal based on the calculated reliability, thereby reducing an error likelihood. CONSTITUTION: A waveform rectification section(8) receives a digital signal generated from an analog signal showing reproduced information from an information recording medium(1), and rectifies a waveform of the digital signal. A maximum likelihood decoding section(9) performs a maximum likelihood decoding process for the digital signal having the rectified waveform, and generates a binary signal. A reliability calculating section(10) calculates reliability on the maximum likelihood decoding results based on the digital signal. A control section controls a shape of a recording signal to record information on the information recording medium(1) based on the calculated reliability.
