<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image in which no fusion occurs between an ink sheet and an image receiving sheet and a print with no unevenness and a good quality of image can be obtained even when a high speed printing is performed. <P>SOLUTION: The method for forming the image uses a thermal transfer sheet which has a thermal transfer layer comprising a coloring material which can be thermally transferred, comprises at least one kind of polyester as a binder component of the thermal transfer layer, and comprises a half or more (molar ratio) terephthalic acid of the acid component of the polyester, and a thermal transfer image receiving sheet which has a receiving layer for receiving the coloring material transferred from the thermal transfer sheet on a substrate and comprises a polymer in which at least one repeating unit is vinyl chloride as the repeating unit in the receiving layer, laminates the thermal transfer layer of the thermal transfer sheet and the receiving layer of the thermal transfer image receiving sheet so that they are brought into contact with each other, and provides a heat energy in accordance with an image signal from a thermal head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
