<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining prescribed picture quality by removing overcharged toner in the bottom layer on a developing sleeve and thus preventing image density from decreasing. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 10 is configured to perform image formation by opposing a prescribed area on the surface of a photoreceptor drum 131 from a charging part 132 to a cleaning section 135 in order as the photoreceptor drum 131 rotates and also forcibly discharge a toner present at a development section 2 on the side of a sleeve 21 to the photoreceptor drum 131 when the image formation is not performed. The printer is provided with an opposite charging voltage applying means 44 of applying a voltage to the photoreceptor drum 131 by an opposite-polarity charging section 132a when the image formation is not performed so that a surface potential at the position of the photoreceptor drum 131 to which the toner is discharged has the opposite polarity from a developing bias applied to the developing sleeve 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
