PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for efficiently eliminating dust by utilizing a camera shake correction mechanism. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes a CCD 27 being an imaging element for acquiring an object image via a photographing lens, the CCD shift mechanism (camera shake correction mechanism) 301 that supports the imaging element and can move the imaging element in two directions, first and second directions, along a face orthogonal to the optical axis of the photographing lens, and a drive means for driving the shift mechanism in the first direction and thereafter driving the shift mechanism in the second direction, and the grit and dust is eliminated in the case of vibration driving in the first and second directions. As the vibration driving, the CCD shift mechanism is pressed into contact (collides) with press contact parts 351a, 351b, 351c, 351d or the CCD shift mechanism repeats driving and stopping little by little.
