<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test strip, especially a support for a lateral flow immunoassay test strip, and a device for performing assay by using the test strip, capable of improving easiness of use, organization, sanitary handling and disposal. <P>SOLUTION: A diagnostic testing device usable for detecting one or a plurality of analytes in a sample is disclosed. The device is equipped with a storage part, and a holder for the test strip. The test strip may be, for example, a lateral flow test strip. The device and the holder permit analysis of the sample, wherein the device is substantially sealed during testing and detection of results. To use, the holder containing the test strip is inserted into the storage part containing the sample to be analyzed. Capillary flow along the test strip is initiated by contact of the sample with the distal end of the test strip. In the storage part, results of the assay can be detected visually or by using a standard measuring device by measurement of light absorption or reflection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
