PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of surely preventing wrong control of an outdoor machine caused by failure of a hardware. SOLUTION: A control portion of the outdoor machine tries to read out data for control from EEPROM storing the data for control (step S12), and whether the data for control can be read out or not is judged (step S13). When the control portion can read out the data for control (S13:YES), an operation is started by using the read-out data for control (step S14).
