PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus and a communication method, capable of preventing deterioration of a communication quality between the radio communication apparatus and the other apparatus in TDMA/TDD system radio communication. SOLUTION: A variation state of a propagation path with the other apparatus is detected and a pair of time slots are assigned. The pair of time slots have uplink/downlink time slots different in duration width from each other. The time-series order in the uplink time slot and the time-series order in the downlink time slot are equalized.
