PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system for preventing an important telephone number from being lost by easily registering a telephone number in a phonebook database. SOLUTION: At the end of call in an IP telephone set, whether or not the telephone number of the other party is registered in the phonebook database 100a of an IP telephone system server 1 is confirmed. When it is not registered, a message for registration is displayed on the IP telephone set to prompt a user to register the number. When the user who receives it performs an operation for the registration, the telephone number of the other party is registered in the phonebook database 100a and the memory of the IP telephone used for the call.
