LIQUID CRYSTAL, LIQUID CRYSTAL MATERIAL MIXTURE INCLUDING THE SAME AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal and a liquid crystal material mixture which can be used for a liquid crystal display panel (LCD) and can present a satisfactory transmittance. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal has the following characteristics. (I) Dielectric anisotropy (Δε) is in the range of about -2.5 to about -5. (II) Splay elastic constant (K11) is in the range of about 1.1×10-11N to about 1.6×10-11N. (III) Bend elastic constant (K33) is in the range of about 1.1×10-11N to about 1.6×10-11N. (IV)Δε, K11(N) and K33(N) satisfy the relation (1). The liquid crystal material mixture comprises the liquid crystal and a polymerizable monomer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
