A cell management device in the storage battery management device according to an embodiment of the invention has a control power source circuit for supplying itself with operation power source, and manages the battery cells that constitute the battery module wherewith the cell management device is associated. A battery management device is connected in such a manner as to be capable of communicating through a wireless communication line with a plurality of cell management devices, each constituting each of a plurality of battery modules. In managing the plurality of battery modules, the battery management device outputs, through the wireless communication line, a control power source signal for controlling the power supply of a control power source circuit. On the basis of the entered control power source signal, the control power source circuit supplies an operation power source to the cell management device. Thus, even when a large-scale storage battery system is to be built, wiring for communication purposes can be reduced, the system can be built readily, and the capacity of the storage batteries can be maintained over a long period. |
