Each of first switch elements (107) is provided at a corresponding sub-pixel (105). Each of second switch elements (108) is provided at a corresponding sub-pixel group (109). Each first scanning signal line (103) is configured to control a plurality of the first switch elements (107) in a line of sub-pixels (105). Each second scanning signal line (104) is configured to control a plurality of the second switch elements (108) in a line of sub-pixel groups (109). By reducing a resolution ratio by a half or even by three fourths in a full-screen display mode, the display device reduces power consumption for driving a display panel without affecting display brightness.
