<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system capable of cutting a continuous paper at an appropriate cutting position even when the continuous paper is printed and is cut in a printing apparatus which does not operate on a page length unit, a cutting apparatus and a cutting method. <P>SOLUTION: The continuous paper passing through the printing apparatus which prints printing information on the continuous paper and also prints a mark indicating a cutting position for cutting the continuous paper is conveyed to a cutting means for cutting the continuous paper. In this instance, when the mark is detected within a specified range on the upstream side in the conveying direction from the cutting position by the cutting means on the continuous paper, the cutting means is controlled so as to cut the continuous paper at a cutting position indicated with the mark (S110). When the mark is not detected within the specified range on the upstream side in the conveying direction from the cutting position by the cutting means on the continuous paper, the cutting means is controlled so as to cut the continuous paper at a preset set length (S102 and S112). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
