A pawl shaft for a vehicle door latch assembly and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the decrease of strength due to the locking or unlocking operation with respect to a door latch and realize smooth operation of the door latch. A shaft(110) is inserted into a base plate of a door latch assembly for locking and unlocking. An extension part(120) is extended from the shaft outward in the longitudinal direction and positioned in the rotation track of a latch lever. A contact part(130) is formed at an outer end of the extension part to be held by a lower part of the latch lever in the locking position of the latch lever for preventing the latch lever from moving to an unlocking position or rotating in a direction of the base plate in the unlocking position of the latch lever.
