The present invention discloses an isomer, enantiomer, diastereoisomer, tautomer, prodrug, pharmaceutically acceptable salt of a compound of formula I and pharmaceutical compositions thereof useful in modulating IAP function via preventing binding of a BIR binding protein to an IAP BIR domain and in treating proliferative diseases such as cancer Also, disclosed is a compound of formula I labeled with a detectable label or affinity tag useful as a probe in identifying compounds that bind to an IAP BIR domain.
