PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the burden of a power supply device and also to suppress an unnecessary behavior of an actuator while a short circuit at the actuator and an output circuit is inspected at the time of starting, and moreover to attain cost reduction and space-saving. SOLUTION: An inkjet head 1 has both four actuator units 21 with a piezoelectric sheet held between a plurality of individual electrodes arranged for every channel and a common electrode, and four driver ICs 52 that include a plurality of the output circuits for outputting a drive signal to corresponding channels. A head power supply device 88 supplies electricity to the four driver ICs 52. At the time of starting, a starting charging part 76 switches the channels sequentially from a discharged state to a charged state one by one of the actuator units 21. When a current detecting circuit 89 detects a current of not smaller than a predetermined value, a stopping part 78 judges that a short circuit occurs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
