The present invention relates to a lean duplex stainless steel having a two phase structure formed with an austenite phase and a ferrite phase and a method for manufacturing the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the lean duplex stainless steel is ferrite- austenite-based stainless steel, wherein a stacking fault energy value of the austenite phase is 19-37, and a range of a critical deformation value is 0.1-0.25, wherein a plastic organic martensite phase is formed. |
